Starnes had to work out of a 1st inning jam after leadoff hitter Will Michael reached on a error and Matt Nelson singled to put runners at 1st and 2nd with no outs. However, he struckout the next to batters and Nelson was thrown out on a wild pitch. Starnes struckout four but left the game after a high pitch count. Patrick Routsis finish the game with a perfect 7th inning.

St Christopher's broke the game open in the 3rd inning and Starnes was again the key. He led off the inning with a single off of Trinity Episcopal pitcher Ike Fleckenstein then stole second and third base before scoring on an infield single from University of Virginia football commit Hayden Mitchell. North Carolina commit Nick Biddison followed with a single scoring Mitchell who reached second base after a steal. Biddison stole second and third and trotted home on a balk by the pitcher. Donovan Murphy added an RBI single to extend the Saints lead to 4-0.
