Strength of Schedule

I also find it odd that there were so many in here saying East didnt have a chance and West TOP 6 was gonna win it all.

NOW? Many of you are rolling with East teams. Hilarious!!!!

Four teams left and 3 teammates from Bridgewater will have some say in who will win the games. The defenses coaches at Clarke and Union and head coach at Buffalo Gap.

Richlands had a very tough schedule, Union on the other hand played some very good, 5A teams like David Crockett and Letcher County, KY (5A), as well as Richlands and GC, but also filled in with duds like Eastside and John Battle. The rest of the schedule was filled with conference games (A good Wise team, a good Gate City team), local rivals like JI Burton (who won 11 straight after losing to Union) and Ridgeview (pretty good team). The only sub-.500 teams they played, aside from 3-7 GC which would beat most 5/6 wins teams in other conferences, were Eastside and Battle. Lee was 5-5.

But Appomattox had a brutal schedule, a very good one, followed by Richlands, Glenvar, Gate City and Union.

Take this for what you will with the number of teams that make the playoffs, but here is number of teams in the playoffs from the regular season:

Appomattox: 8
Buffalo Gap: 6
Clarke County: 4
Union: 6

You could realistically bump Union's number to 7 since Crockett qualified for the playoffs, but unfortunately weren't allowed to participate due to their season ending brawl they had last year.
