The Times-Dispatch Invitational Tournament for high school basketball returns for its 20th year on Friday, Dec. 19.
The first round will be held at four local high schools. The second round, on Dec. 20, will take place at Randolph-Macon College. The final round, on Dec. 23, will be held at VCU's Siegel Center
In the boys bracket, Benedictine will host Midlothian in the first round. The Cadets, the two-time defending tournament champions, welcome back Robert Churchwell III as their coach this season. Churchwell coached Benedictine in 2012-13 and won a state championship in his first season.
George Wythe, which finished runner-up in the 3A state championship game last year, will travel to Highland Springs, Armstrong will visit Cosby and John Marshall, the defending 3A state champion, travels to Glen Allen.
