The Battlefield for 14 October

Its week 8 and the second round of Battlefield District play. This week we start to thin the herd and establish the front runners. At the same time, we are closing in on the end of the season and in another week, the playoff picture should start to take shape. No time to let up and not much time left to see these teams in action. Get off the couch this Friday night and get to one of these games. You won’t be disappointed! Note: I added district records to the write up this week.

Caroline (0-1) @ King George (1-0)

Caroline got win number one week before last and then gave JM a hard time this past week! They went down but JM knew they had played a football game when it was over. King George is one tough customer and they have their sights set on the ending. Hard to believe the Cav’s won’t make them work for every single yard. In the end, the Foxes will get the W. But it won’t be a cake walk.

Chancellor (1-0) @ James Monroe (1-0)

Chancellor is coming off a hard fought win against county rival, Courtland. JM got the W against Caroline but had to work hard for it. Absolutely no doubt this one will be a full four quarters of tough football. It’ll come down to who wants it more. 2012 was the last year the Chargers were victorious over the Jackets. That’ll change this week. Chancellor gets the W.

Courtland (0-1) vs Spotsylvania (0-1)

Spotsy dropped to a tough King George this past week. Not completely unexpected. Courtland is reeling from that loss to Chancellor. I’d like to see Spotsy play the kind of ball they are capable of this week and give the Cougars a hard tough night. They can do it!!! But those Cougars are getting better every week and the loss to a rival has them stinging. Courtland gets the W.

Good luck to all the Battlefield teams this week! Play like champions every play and for all four quarters! Every Friday night brings about huge possibilities and all of these teams can produce them!

KG and Caroline is a no brainer.

Chancellor has issues. Despite State Champ talent, this could easily go JMs way. First weapon in the Charger arsenal is the gun they use to shoot themselves in the foot.

Cougars should have no issue with Spotsy.

Cougars will beat Spotsy, Caroline, and my upset pick is they will slip by JM. That game is at JM! Anyway, I do not like teams with losing records in the playoffs, but with this years very young Courtland team, I will take 4-6 or just maybe 5-5 if it was to pan out that way. Heck one more week of practice, a playoff game and playoff atmosphere for these Sophs, I will take that for just the experience in itself,and you really never know what will happen once you are in! FB Kam-Ron Taylor 6'0 220lbs should be back this week, he was missed in the Chancellor game.

First post here. I think King George vs. Caroline will be a King George win. However, Caroline has shown some promise, and they look much improved from their past teams. This being said, King George is rolling and they will keep it up this week.

JM vs. Chancellor will be very interesting! JM struggled vs. Caroline. Caroline gave them a run for their money, cut down on turnovers and it could've gone their way. Chancellor played a good game vs. Courtland, however they could beat themselves. I say this one goes down to the wire. Chancellor win.

Courtland and Spotsy is leaning towards Courtland as well. Spotsy is playing decent as well, but they just don't have all of the pieces. Courtland on the other hand is getting better week by week, but they have some holes to fill as well in their game plans. They won't face that much of a test this week.
