The Battlefield for 7 October

Its week 7 and that means it’s the first week of Battlefield District play! The only bad part is four of the six teams are playing twice this week! The weather on Friday moved every game but one and one team had a bye. Should not make a lot of difference though. The race for the Battlefield District Championship, the BDC, brings out the best in these teams regardless of how many times they play in a week! Let the show down begin!!!

Caroline vs James Monroe

Caroline is on the verge of turning some heads. I know it’s coming. JM is playing Jacket football and they want to be in mix for that trophy! I don’t think Caroline will have enough to stop them. They’ll have to work hard, but the Jackets get the W.

Chancellor vs Courtland

When these two teams face each other, records don’t matter. This is the one game of the year a fan for either of these teams just can’t miss. The last few years it has been all Courtland. Especially the last three when the Chargers were so young. The tides have turned and now the Cougars are the young ones. You have to add that the Chargers are on a mission! None of the players on this squad have ever beat Courtland! That changes this Friday night! The Chargers will not be denied! Chancellor with the W.

King George @ Spotsylvania

King George is on a roll. But I have to say that roll is a little suspect. In my mind, the only real tough team they played beat them. Doesn’t mean the Foxes aren’t good but it does make me think how things will go against tough opponents. The Knights are coming up on the curve themselves. They are working hard. I just don’t see them having enough to stop the Foxes though. King George gets the W.

The first week of the BDC race is set. Even without the results for tomorrow night, I think it looks good. You have two opportunities this week to see most of these teams in action. Get out there and cheer your favorite team on!!!!!

Yeah young cougars come back to earth this week, but this is going to be a real good game. I think it comes down to the Charger QB,if he is allowed to go off then it will be along night, However, I feel thet Cougar defensive end Kyrie McCain is going to be a thorn in his side as this kid has just been unstoppable, check out some of the videos, and yeah he is only about 5'9 and 165 pounds.Jenkins will get covered by the 6'3 Taylor kid who was the Cougar QB until 3 weeks ago. He has the size and speed to slow Jenkins down,or make things difficult for him. The Cougar offense is coming around and coach Hall has put in some new plays.However the Charger defense is going to be the difference in this one. In the end the Chargers will wear down my youngsters, say 31-14?

King George @ Spotsylvania

No need to be suspicious of KG, they're for real. Their defensive line is stout, and Louisa didn't really start moving the ball consistently on them until their tackle #66 left the game in the first half. Their defense is the best I've seen in my four years of watching them, and their offense has many weapons. I definitely don't want to rematch them. I actually won't be surprised if they go 9-1 and win the Battlefield.
