Thanks for sharing. Eddie made a big difference in my life. I was identified by a good counselor at Andrew Lewis as not really college capable and my grades and performance in class supported her perspective. I had transferred to Andrew Lewis as a senior and missed the first game of the season. One game later, I was a starter on defense and offense. Yes, I was immature and irresponsible in the classroom. However, the coach's belief in me as a football player and the discipline he expected out of me was a positive force in my life. Later, I graduated with honors at The University of Tennessee and about 6 years later earned a Master's degree from Stanford. Past seventy now, happily married, retired, and living in Oregon. One of my many regrets, is I never personally thanked Coach for not only believing in me but teaching me to believe in myself.
