The Forge-Franklin County game moved to neutral site...

I guess CF's field was in pretty bad shape from a full season of action and a helluva lot of rain, just like every other field in the state with natural turf. The move to Mountain View surely favors CF considering all the weapons they have on offense but maybe it's a good omen for FC. I think the only other matchup between these two teams that was moved to a neutral site (also artificial turf) was in 2009 and FC pulled off the upset! Now if the weather can postpone the game until Saturday (again like the 09 game) maybe that would be enough to put the mojo on The Forge! Just kidding...I know so many programs all over the state are tired of postponed-rescheduled-canceled games from this season of monsoon like weather. Not wishing any of that on either team really, but if it got moved to Saturday I could actually go to the game as I've got to be in Richmond late Saturday evening! Just down the road an hour or so!
Whenever the game is played, wish I could be there to cheer on the Eagles in scarlet and white. Just remember all you FC seniors suiting up for the game...play every play like it's gonna be your last because soon enough...it WILL be your last! And trust me, you're going to miss it every August of the rest of your life. GO FCHS!!

Yes, I remember and attended that game CF vs. FC in 2009 where FC pulled the upset; and you are so right on all accounts. I attended another CF game this season where they played Brooke Point at a neutral site because of their field conditions; and that location too was Mountain View. Although the Forge won the game handily, it seemed eerily different (can't explain it) to play a "home" game there. The crowd and the Green Wall couldn't get into it like we normally do. It definitely gave Brooke Point an added edge to that one. Like you said, who knows. I definitely change my previous prediction based on this new development, but still believe CF pulls out the victory. GO FORGE!!!

That 09 game was something wasn't it? It was FC's first ever playoff victory and what a dramatic way to do it.
But back to reality and this Friday night...FC will have to play its best defense of the year, take care of the ball and capitalize on any mistakes CF might make to have any chance of pulling the upset. Been two weeks since The Forge has been on the field so either that time off will mean rest or rust..hoping for the latter and maybe they'll cough up a couple early turnovers and let us keep it close. Good luck to your guys doodledude.....

That 09 game was held at Liberty in Bealeton and I remember the come back from Franklin County that shocked Forge. Mountain View is within 5 miles of Forge and it’s playoff time. Forge wins big!

Good luck to you all as well, Eagle. Enjoy the game.

Wasn't even close doodle.... 42-7 CF with around 4 minutes left the last time I checked! Your 35-0 prediction at least had the point spread correct. CF was just too much for the Eagles from Rocky Mount....
I'm hoping FC's finishing the season so strong is a sign that coach Edwards has the program headed back in the right direction and he'll have more kids out participating in the near future who are willing to buy into the way he does things. Winning seasons have never come easy at FC for anyone heading their program and I hope Edwards continues to have some success. 7-5 doesn't make you world beaters but nothing to hang your head over either. Good luck The Forge next week....

Eagle, I just got in from the game. It was still a weird feeling to the way the game started and felt at Mountain Brook. Your guys hung with Forge pretty well in the first quarter; even got two early turnovers (fumble and INT) but could not capitalize. It stayed close; a defensive battle until early second quarter. I think CF started to figure things out some with your guys' schemes. It was pretty much a shutout from there until your #10 (RB) hit a long one for at least 50 yards; he's a stud. It's just that CF is very strong against the run, and got to him most times before he can even get started. I wish you guys nothing but the best going forward.

Always a game at “North Mountain Brooke”

Doodle thanks for the game details! I've been busy with hunting season and hadn't had time to read on how it went. Thought a couple turnovers could sway things in FC's favor, but it s a sign of a defensively strong team that doesn't give up points off of them. The Forge will be tough to beat the rest of the way... Good luck to the Eagles......

Thanks for the best wishes, Eagle. Looks like we'll need it tomorrow. The writer of today's front page article predicts Manchester will beat Forge 42-28 tomorrow. How he came to that conclusion, I have no idea how he came to that conclusion. I wonder if he's even been to a Forge game this season. But maybe he's right; but I don't think so. Nice locker room material. Happy Thanksgiving.

Manchester is loaded with D1 talent but Colonial Forge is flying under the radar. The winner of this game should be in the state championship
