We all get jaded by the steady stream of news about all that is bad in our society. But let us all stop and appreciate the good that is going on right now.
I could fill this page, and many more, with the names of people, organizations, businesses, Churches, and other groups that are doing an amazing job of providing relief and assistance to the people that have had their lives turned upside down. We will never truly know the names, and the list of contributions, that most of these wonderful people have made. And most prefer it this way. They do what they do with quiet humility and humbleness.
So, if you have been in a position to help in any way, or perhaps you have simply prayed for the victims, you are the “Good in Humans” that I’m referring to.
I encourage you to take the time to send a note to the businesses and organizations, and especially the individuals that can be identified. And praise them for their efforts.
They really don’t want the recognition, but they deserve it. They are the difference makers.
One last note. For those that are not directly affected, life will move on and this tragedy will be just a sad memory. But for those affected, it will be their daily reality for weeks, months, and in some cases, years. If you see a way that you can help the victims, no matter how insignificant it may seem, please do so. Help the organizations that you may be affiliated with remember that long after the news coverage has moved on to something else, our friends and neighbors will still have needs. Please keep them on your mind as well as in your prayers.
