Little bit of talk about Forge and Smith on here but not much about a really good match-up between Woodbridge and Westfield. Any thoughts?

I know WF really well, but not much about Woodbridge other than what I have heard by word of mouth.

Defense: WBR's schedule is not nearly as difficult as WF's overall, so I take their defense and the points against stat with a grain of salt-as a good team, they should have performed well defensively against most of the teams on their schedule. They were blown out by Freedom, a very good, high scoring team, but had two close games with an above average Hylton squad (23-20 come from behind win in the regular season, and last week's game was closer than the 28-14 score, or so I hear). I do know that WF's defense is excellent against the run. The pass defense is not quite on the same level as the run defense, but has improved a whole lot over the course of the season.

Offense: WF has a host of passing targets and there is no way for WBR to cover them all. Asante is the best RB WF has had in a few years and is a hard nosed, tough runner who does not go down easily on first contact. I am guessing the main running threat for WBR is the QB Jackson, but WF has faced other QBs similar to him and done OK.

Special teams: I know nothing about WBR. For WF, the kicking game is serviceable, punting is above average, and the KR duo of Hinton and/or Morin is a big threat.

This should be the toughest test so far for either team this year.

Westfield will bring their game for the whole 48 minutes. Few teams are truly prepared to perform on a high level like they do. The Bulldogs come out hard, make a big push to close out the half & come out ready to blow out the game as the 3rd Quarter resumes.

It takes a lot of preparation to shut that down. The teams that have beaten them have seemed to control time of possession and were successful running against them. The problem is, those teams are few and far, far between any successful battles against them.

If Woodbridge can keep it down to one turnover in this game and avoid chasing chains, I think it will be a good one. I'm looking to see how Westfield handles the defensive front of Woodbridge. Good size there and with the way they played against Hylton last week, I could see them stuffing the run or getting consistent pressure on the QB.
