Three was the magic number for Liberty Christian Academy in their win over Great Bridge. The Bulldogs won by three runs (7-4) and used two three-run innings to build a 7-1 lead.

Liberty Christian Academy outhit the Wildcats 10-7 and took a 6-1 lead after five innings. Pearce Howard was 3 for 3 from the plate including two triples. Jacob Williams drove in three runs with two hits while Grant Johnson pitched into the 5th inning allowing one run with eight strikeouts. Kyle Horton got the final two batters out.

Despite the five run deficit, Great Bridge answered with a three spot of their own in the sixth inning to pull within two (6-4). A single by leadoff hitter Brelin Harden drove in two runs for the Wildcats.

The Bulldogs are hoping three times is a charm when they face Hanover for the 3rd time in the past 12 months. The Hawks won the past two meetings including a regular season meeting in April.
