The Roanoke Times had its Top 10 list but here is another opinion as the season gets underway
1. Hidden Valley - HV has tons of height and offense as they only lost their starting setter and libero off last year's Final Four team.
2. Patrick Henry - returns virtually its entire team from last year's state qualifying team.
3. Cave Spring - won its 5th state title in 10 years last season but lost 4 senior starters and is very young this year.
4. Lord Botetourt - returns a lot of starters off last year's team that finished strong.
5. Auburn - powered by Radford-signee Jordan Watson, Auburn should contend for a state title in A.
6. Gate City - should contend for a state title in A.
7. Jefferson Forest - young team returns and should be one of top teams in Seminole this season.
8. EC Glass - last year's state qualifying team should be one of top teams in Seminole again this season.
9. Roanoke Catholic - won states last year and returns most everyone so should contend for state title again this season.
10. Northside - has a good mix of returning players and new talent that should make them compete with LB for top spot in BRD.
*** Others To Watch: Altavista, Blacksburg, Eastside, Franklin County, James River, Liberty Christian, North Cross, Patrick County, Radford, Salem.
This list is based primarily on returning players from last year and any new varsity players that can have an immediate impact. I'm sure this list will look different in a few weeks/months. What does everyone else think? What teams are too high or too low or missing entirely? Post your own list or just post your proposed changes...
