The situation is senseless, two words of caution though. First, probably best to make sure the information already out is accurate and that the context is complete. We have seen in recent times too many incidents where initial reporting is erroneous, incomplete and/or taken out of context. Second, you may want to dig a little deeper in to the young man's high school academic record and achievements. It may be possible that behavioral red flags were viewed more as a product of environment and the remainder of the record a case for giving him a chance in a better environment. I am not defending the young man or what he did, senseless violence is never acceptable. Nor am I trying to minimize the grief and pain of friends, family and loved ones for all those involved. My point is merely advocating restraint and consideration until information and story becomes clear as more often than not rushes to judgement usually end with getting at least some, if not much more, of the story wrong. There will be plenty of time to weigh in, and likely much more accurately, when more has been verified.
