I know we are supposed to stick to high school ball but we should be allowed to go off topic once in a while. Today while channel surfing, I saw the absolute worst officiating decision I have ever seen in a college game, even though they used the alleged "previous play under further review" routine to supposedly make the right call.

Tulane had a 5-6 record, meaning that a win today would send them to a bowl game. So the game came down to a final play. They were trailing 41-38 and had the ball at the one-yard line with a chance to win the game. The QB kept the ball and appeared to definitely be over the goal line. The initial call, however, was that he was stopped short. I, watching on TV, could not believe it, as it seemed obvious that he scored.

So they made their announcement and started their review. While we were waiting, the announcers also replayed it over and over again, confidently telling us several times that the call would be reversed and that Tulane would be awarded the TD. Each time they showed the play, it looked more obvious than before that yes, he had scored.

Yet when they came back to make their decision, the call stood. Tulane lost the game as well as their shot at a bowl game. I have no connection and of course no way of showing you the play, but I was wondering if anyone else saw it. I know there is some discussion about it on websites, but of course nothing could be done now.
