Sports Head had the pleasure of getting a close look at the Tunstall Trojans. Coach David Potts is entering his 4th season as the Trojans Head Coach. I came away awfully impressed with Tunstall.
Players to watch:
1.Sophomore QB Dylan Burnette #4. Strong arm, makes very good decisions. Was thrown in as a freshman and shows a lot of maturity in the pocket. Give him time and he will pick the defense apart.
2. Senior LB Tony Johnson #31. NASTY old school linebacker. Very very quick to the ball and makes excellent reads. All Conference potential player and one of the best LBs in the Piedmont District. Missed last year but started as a sophomore.
3. Senior RB/LB Clay Hardy #23. I’ve been associated with Tunstall for 10 years and I will tell you that the only kid I’ve seen come out of Dry Fork as tough as this kid, is former THS/University of Cincinnati star and current Delaware DE Caleb Ashworth. Kid is tough. Will eat you up 4 and 5 yards a pop at RB. Hardy finished last year with with 1,067 yards on 158 carries and will be Tunstall’s feature back this year.
4. Senior Utility Michael Thomas #1. Speed, speed, speed. Give him a crease, he’s gone. He should split carries with Hardy after the graduation of Trevor Lovelace.
5. Senior DL Tony Totten #77. Kid is a pit bull. MEAN and tough. Stays low and makes the play. Could be an All Conference type of year for Totten.
6. Junior WR Jalan Troy #3. 6’3, physical, reliable hands and has speed. Big year = College Prospect. Kid can play!
7. Senior WR Khalil Wall #81. 6’3, shifty, athletically gifted and nice hands. Kid has burners. Won’t be surprised to see some colleges offer after the season.
Watch out for the Tunstall Trojans this year. I’m very proud of what Coach Potts has done for this program. He’s building a very good program! THS, I love it, I love it, I love it! Go Trojans!
