Over here in the valley virtually no one thinks TA has a chance (to be fair, few Class 3 teams do) but this is certainly TA’s best team they’ve had. Any crazy predictions or do we all think the bulldogs roll here? Either way TA has had one of the best seasons in school history.

Bulldogs roll. Maybe not by 50 like last year but still by 21+

LCA will roll. Gideon will score at least 4 TDs himself. I’m glad he’s a senior. lol

I think one of the problems TA will have is they haven't played anyone . LCA played Heritage, Jefferson Forest, Glass, and Salem. This is a huge step up for TA
35-14 LCA. A big improvement from last year but still a huge gap.
I agree that LCA has faced better competition but for what it's worth, Heritage and Salem are the only teams that played them within 21 pts. None of the other games were close.

Point was that LCA had played much much better competition than TA. Last year TA got culture shocked because they had not seen anything close to LCA. TA should evaluate their schedule. They should look into playing Handley or Sherando , Lord Botetourt or Heritage. They need to expose their kids to teams that have some real talent.

Unfortunately this seems to be a common theme with Harrisonburg area/Valley District teams. By no means do I think TA is bad team, but they're schedule tends to be weak. There's only so much you can do with your district schedule, but TA and others in that area need to bolster their OoD schedules to make the strides needed to get out of the region playoffs.

I'm thinking back to '21 when Broadway went 10-0 and only managed to get the 4-seed in Region C (I'm pretty sure I'm remembering that right, feel free to correct me), earned every accolade in the district, and were down something like 42-0 at half in the second round of region playoffs.

Per MaxPreps, Broadway was 6-4(5 seed) in '21. Beat TA in the 4/5 game before getting boots smoked 48-0 to eventual state runner up LCA in 2nd rd. I'm still somewhat new to Hburg but to my knowledge, this year's TA team is the first 10-0 Valley team since Harrisonburg in the late 2000s/early 2010s. The Valley has been down in football as a whole since that time. Just not many great athletes out here compared to other areas of the state.

Coach Turner has got TA program consistently winning. Their middle and JV programs are strong so it'll likely continue for the foreseeable future. He def needs to find at least 1 challenging OOD game to help them not be shellshocked when they get deeper into the playoffs. I don't expect them to win Friday but it'll be closer than 56-14 IMO. TA has been ground and pound this year compared to being very balanced last year. They are more physical on both sides of the ball which leads me to believe they can shorten the game and should be better prepared to contain Gid the Kid from the I -Formation. Still don't think they've got enough size/depth in the trenches to hold up for 4 quarters but on any given friday night anything can happen. Someone else earlier had the same sentiments as I. LCA by 21, 35-14 sounds about right. I'm rooting for TA to pull the upset, Valley desperately needs the street cred!

Seminole has won every 3C title since going back to 4 regions. Valley, Jefferson, Shenandoah football just not built like Seminole.

Thanks for checking me on that. For some reason I had an undefeated record stuck in my head for Broadway that year. I don't believe the beat down from last year will happen again, but TA has a tall task in front of them on Friday night

This is TA’s first undefeated season in the schools history, Turner and staffs got the boys playing really good on both sides of the ball this year so far. I think this game will be closer than most think. On3 has the score prediction lca 46-13 (although they’ve been fairly close this year). TA’s gotta limit possessions and eat clock cause you know Davidsons’s gonna get his 😂 watching him is like playing a video game, the kid is unbelievable. I think he had 300 all purpose yards in the first half last year. Only common opponent between them is Broadway and TA beat em 31-6 and LCA beat em 42-14. Will be interesting to see TA’s Matthews (Va Tech bound) and LCA’s Davidson (Clemson bound) line up against each other. Won’t be the last time these 2 meet up.

I went to 1 game at LCA's stadium last year. Haven't been back. PA system operator thinks it's a concert instead of a football game. They play music very loud after every play. And on every dead ball, timeout, or any other stoppage of play. Very bad atmosphere for a high school game.
That’s what home field advantage is though, make it annoying and loud for the visitors. I can’t stand going to games and fans are sitting on their hands, so to speak and the band just sits there and doesn’t get involved much until the halftime show. But I agree with you on the pa announcer there 100%.

I hope TA plays well. I remember watching a midget league football game years ago, and it was Beau Baylor doing everything every play offense and defense.
He still does 😂 110% every play. Good hard nosed kid, glad to see him get the single season rushing record, hard work payed off for that young man.

By rule the PA announcer is supposed to just call the downs and penalties. They are not supposed to be a distraction to the game.

Yes it’s awful. You can’t even carry on a conversation with the person sitting beside you. The visitor side is too low. The top row is barely over the players heads on the field

You should be able to at least carry on a conversation with the person sitting with you but you can’t
