Still some moving parts but a one loss Riverheads should end between 24.9- 25.7 ( if that loss is to Draft). That’s a smidge better than the rest if the numbers hold close to what I have projected. An undefeated Riverheads will end up 27.4-28.2 which should out pace all others.

With K&Q winning against West Point and the potential points a victory over King William would carry, I need to go back and project them out as undefeated just to be sure. They may end up sneaking up on everyone the way they have so far. And might I add, good for them.

I will put together some projections for the top 4 or so in each region and post later tonight.

I have them at 6 wins against 1A and 1 win against a 2A school for 114 with 33 riders for 147. I may be missing riders from Blessed Sacrament and it Portsmouth Christian but I thought I had the others. I was off by 3 or so they are at 21.00 and alone in 1st. Let me know if you have info on BS or PC.

so according to the points and rankings at this point how would the playoff pairings be for the first round? thanks, new to VA football

1 vs 8
4 vs 7
3 vs 6
2 vs 5

They are not reseeded after each round so once a bracket is established, you play that side out. It works that way in each region untilna regions champion is crowned. Then region A winner and B winner meet (highest seed hosting) while region C winner and D winner meet (again highest seed hosting). The winner of those two games meet in Salem in December for the State Championship.

I just did KQ with the confusion, I have 156

Just going off records on Max Preps for the ones not listed here.

BSH: 16/8
WIN: 18/2
PO CH: 16/10
CHI: 16/0
MID: 16/10
MAT: 16/2
WP: 16/10

TOTAL: 156 or 22.29

Thanks @Gunz41, I had Portsmouth at 3 wins instead of 5 and Blessed Sacrament as 1 win. This 5 wins are why it should be 10 difference (gotta figure out why it’s 147 instead of 146 to 156). Either way I do appreciate it but don’t search Max Preps because I don’t trust some of their information. I suppose I should have more faith in humanity, lol.

so top 4 from C and top 4 from D correct that would give you the top 1 through 8 or is it top 8 from C and D. 16 teams total from both C and D

so after top two seeds do they go by points for remaining seeds?

I'm sure it's just a typo but:
1 vs 8
4 vs 5

3 vs 6
2 vs 7

That's usually the only reason I look is for wins, I figure they should AT LEAST have that right.

I didn't look at those 2 teams schedules to see if a win for either way before the official season starts. They had given someone a win in scrimmage, but I looked at your records to check.

#7 is Northumberland and #8 is Mathews as of today. I only put Middlesex in there to show where they are in relationship to the teams they play.

@NKU Quiet one, I hear ya. I think it depends on who they draw. I will get crucified but I have it being
1. Essex, 2. W&L 3. K&Q 4. Rapp, and that’s a tough top half of the bracket to overcome. Not saying that it can’t because it happened last year, just always seems unlikely to me.

Northumberland could be a dangerous 7 seed.
Seriously? Their wins are against not very good teams to put it mildly and they have gotten blown out the last 3 weeks against the likes of Essex, W&L, and BC. IMO they only get one more win and thats against Lancaster. They will be one and done when the playoffs start. They lost too much talent last year to be a factor this year but thats just my opinion.

That's why the games are played... With high school kids, you never know what you gonna get. Lol. Playoffs are going to be interesting. Good luck to everyone on the rest of the regular season.

VHSL ratings are out Galax is now #1 region C with 155/22.14286, Narrows #2 with 154/22.00000, GW #3 with 144/ 20.57143

They will be the 2 and 3 seed barring a monumental collapse by Galax, but who hosts will be the interesting deal. I have Narrows hosting in my projections but it’s closer than you would think for an undefeated team versus a 2 loss team. Narrows isn’t getting any help from a couple of their opponents and GW is making ground up by having defeated teams with 4-5 wins.

If Narrows wins out it will be extremely tight between them and Galax but I have Galax getting the riders to take them. If Narrows loses then it gets interesting for GW although I think Narz is ahead enough to hold on. Fun stuff in region C.

Region D is another one that has some interesting scenarios. Lots of places can change there so hang on tight and let’s see what these last few weeks bring.
