Valley District Basketball

Spotswood returns Kaleb Strawderman, an all state second team selection and Valley district POY, and also Robert Smith, but I think they lose their really big dude. They should be the favorites again still.

Harrisonburg losses their top playmaker but they always have athletes.

I think Rockbridge's best players were a sophomore and a junior last year, and they beat Spotswood once. Look for them to contend.

Broadway is always decent.

I don't expect Turner Ashby or Fort Defiance to do much this year.

Again, I'm from the opposite side of the valley so feel free to correct me if some of my info is off.

Spotswood brings back the entire team that played most of the year. The big guy, Daniel Ouderkirk, barely played last year and did not play at all in the district games I don't think. Rockbridge beat that Spotswood team at Spotswood in the tournament finals last year, so they will definitely be considered a favorite as well. Harrisonburg is Harrisonburg with a solid coach and TA has a new coach. Waynesboro always seems to have athletes all over the floor. Broadway is really well coached and their JV teams have been solid for years. Do not know much about what Fort returns, but they are always scrappy and tough to play. Should be an interesting year.

This will be the last year you can use that name:(

The Valley District as many of us know it will cease to exist.
