Valley District semi-finals on air

Both games can be heard today. Game one between Spotswood 15-3 and Waynesboro 13-8 will be on WHBG ESPN 1360; this game will not be online. 1360 can be heard all up and down the valley. It starts at 4:30. Game two Turner Ashby 16-4 vs. Broadway 12-9 will be on WSVA 550 and online at around 7:30. Both games are at TA.

Game 1 Final Spotswood 4 Waynesboro 1

Tucker McCoy gets the complete game win. Waynesboro will now play in the consolation game Thursday against the loser of the TA and Broadway game. That winner will get a berth in the Region III tournament.

Final Warhill 7 York 0

Semi-final one of the Region I Bay Rivers District. Warhill's Pitcher and Bay Rivers player of the year Michael Brunfield gets the win. He also hit a two run HR. Warhill 16-4.

Region IV River Ridge District Update

Tonight Cave Spring beat Salem 4-0. So the semi-finals are set for tomorrow night. Game one will be Hidden Valley 16-4 vs Cave Spring 7-12 at 4:00 followed by Blacksburg 13-7 vs Christiansburg 13-6. Both games are at Kiwanis Field in Salem.

Dulles District Semi-Finals

Heritage 7 Woodgrove 2; Potomac Falls 6 Loudoun Valley 4. In the bottom of the 6th Joey Larimer for PF hit a two run HR to tie it at 4-4. Then in the bottom of the 7th PF catcher Brendan O'Brien hit a two run homer to right to win it.

Blue Ridge District tonight

Staunton River 2 Northside 1 ; Rockbridge 5 Lord Botetourt 2. Wednesday semi-finals will be Alleghany vs. Staunton River at 5 followed by William Byrd vs. Rockbridge. Both games are at Lord Botetourt HS.

Tonight: Tunstall 13 Magna Vista 3 and Bassett 10 Patrick Co. 0. The championship game will be Thursday evening at Hooker Field in Martinsville.

Yes, it does. Talk about a promising season coming to a sudden stop. But that's the Jefferson. Four quality programs, just two advance. Even Powhatan is going to have to work its way past Fluvanna, and I believe the Indians will.
