Why have they not updated their site to show the 12 team format? And where are the point ratings? The tournament format has not been updated since 2013. With all the money they are making from the playoff gates you would think they could pay someone to maintain the site

Why have they not updated their site to show the 12 team format?

It is my understanding that not all of the respective regions have turned in their official playoff plans at this time. Should happen this week.

I've got a call set up with the VHSL to discuss as I am in the process of writing an article about each region's postseason structure.

And where are the point ratings?

I believe that they have always held the power points release until week five or six.

The VHSL lost money in both 2013 and 2014.

Yet they voted themselves a 2% pay raise. Cry me a river

VHSL needs to reorganize entire organization. They need one person running it as Commissioner, and stop delegating anything down to regions, conferences or sectionals. Put every school on same sheet of music and play ball.

Hampton,
Yes..Yes...and againYes! This is exactly on point and what they have to do.

I disagree. The cookie cutter approach may make things simpler for those of us who follow VHSL sports, but it's not necessarily the best thing for the players and ADs. What works for 5A South may not work for 1A West. Some suit in Charlottesville or Richmond is not going to know what's best for the schools and their players better than the administrators at those schools.

I could maybe begin to agree with you obguthr we get rid of the VHSL altogether and go back to total local control with each district making their own rules and champion. Winner of the district goes to the playoff in region.... Region winner goes to state. Simple, efficient....and no suit in Charlottesville telling the local schools what to do. If they keep VHSL it has to be a simple to understand and administer cookie cutter approach otherwise you have a mess which is what we have now. That will never happen because once the schools gave up their power they can never get it back.

5A South should play by same rules as 1A West.
3A North should play by same rules as 6A North
1A East should play by same rules as 2A West

and on and on and on.

Everyone should play by same rules. It is the VHSL, not 5A South HSL.
