So both are designated the home team for the game on Saturday, but because we are basically traveling the farthest and the other teams are closer they are making us only the home team in uniform only as we will be forced to use the visitors side and visitors locker room. Have never seen a situation where the home team is forced to use the visitors side. When I was at the Navy/OSU game OSU was the away team and even though they had more fans they weren't given the home side of the field. It's fine though usually I try to understand VHSL decisions this one is not cool at all. Locker rooms don't make games or teams, but I have never seen any mess like this before in my life.

Does that mean fans of both will be sitting on the visitor side too? I can't get too mad as I think making 2 # 1 seeds travel 3 hours and 4 1/2 to a final game is [deleted word, c'mon, guy] anyway! These games should be closer to their home fields, this is the real nonsense. What reward is this to them being #1 and their fans. VHSL has a ways to go on logic and fairness. Due to the. 6 hour Rt I will probably opt to watch the downstream . Rather go in person but too long a drive and $30-40 in gas (380 miles rt ). No bus this year like 2001. & 2002 for some reason.

Why are you crying over something the VHSL does, its their rules so deal with it!!!!

Do you think the VHSL is psychic and knew who would be in Lynchburg? Quit acting like you're entitled to a short trip, because you're. A true fan would be appreciative that his team is even there and go through hell and high water to make the trip and support the kids. Quit crying.

Teams in the Tidewater area should be entitled to a playoff location that is central to all. Teams from this need to travel least twice as far as their opponent . That is not centrally located which is fair. I am driving there ( 3 hours each way). How long is your drive going to be buddy?

Virginia is one of the most weirdly-shaped states. There's no way any location will be central to all. Plus most of your area have larger schools and play at UVA anyway. Your school's an outlier. Name a better location to have the 3A/4A championships that's central to all.

My trip will be less than two hours, too bad I won't see you there.

I'd be satisfied with UVA in Charlottesville- an hour closer and 65 miles closer. An easier 2 hours. I probably will be there. Went in 2001 & 2002 but would like a change to occur. With realignment there are now quite a few. 3 & 4 a schools down here now.

When its all said and done it really doesnt matter. Im fine with walking a few extra steps to the other side. I'm sure both sides will still have plenty of room left. I.m sure the kids on the field could care less, hell MV has to sit in a bus at halftime when its cold outside, any side of the locker room is an upgrade to them. I don't care where MV sits as long as we have one more point at the end of the game.

At LU's stadium, is does not matter whether a team is home or visitor. plenty of seating on both sides. Both locker rooms are great.

Best facility either team will have ever played in.

I think it's an easy drive from the coast to Liberty. Lafayette can go i64 to Richmond and hit 460 in Petersburg and go straight to Williams Stadium. It's a very smooth ride. Same drive for Lake Taylor (probably about 45 miles longer drive for the Titans). Locker rooms doesn't matter though. Top quality amenities at LU and I would think Lafayette and LT would be the favorites to win their respective games so NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT!

LU has great facilities.. Have you ever seen their baseball stadium? One of the best I've seen at that level.

Yes I have been to baseball stadium many times. I believe it's rated the 5th best in NCAA baseball. They have a new softball stadium that opens this spring. It's rated 3rd best in nation, behind only LSU and Baylor.
LU's facilities put most ACC schools to shame.

I agree

No one should complain about having to go to Liberty University with a chance to win state championship. If any school doesn't want to go, I am sure there's a school out there that would gladly take their place.
