VMI getting more of a local flavor

They currently have 18 players from Southwest Va. I know they will add at least 3 more to that tally this fall with the addition of Ramsey from Salem, Lythgoe from Lord Botetourt, and Brewster from Pulaski. @Brewski66 I'm sure there's a lot more from this area headed there soon. Hopefully they can help bring success to a team that hasn't had much in a long time.

This was Coach Wachenheim and his coaches first full year to recruit. I have been extremely impressed with them. Since Coach Wachenheim played at the Air Force Academy, he understands what it takes to play at VMI. VMI is not like other places. One of the Coaches and head recruiting coordinator is Brad Robbins. He is the son of Coach Phil Robbins of Powell Valley. So I am sure there is a lot on contact with other coaches in SWVA.

Right now they have 30 kids signed up for next year. I believe it is a very impressive group. I know the recruits have already started to bond and are dedicated to bring VMI their first winning season in over 30 years.

I didn't realize they had gotten Alec Mini from PH. I was impressed with him this past year.

I'm hoping they will turn things around. In my time following football I didn't remember them having a winning season. I like that they are looking locally for players.
