If anyone can chime in with volleyball updates that would be Great! In Region B Rappahannock County returns 2nd team All state phenom Hannah East and looks to be strong at 5-0 so far with 3 wins over 3A schools. Riverheads as always looks solid at 5-1 with with 2 of those wins over 2A competition. Last years Region Champion Altavista got off to a slow start at 0-4, but the 2 AAA schools that gave them those losses are a combined 10-0 right now. Altavista has been playing without Region B player of the year and All State setter Charlotte Mabry, but she is expected to return soon............Auburn is tough again in Region C, returning 2 All state players Rachel Harding and Jaylin Shepard.

In NND Volleyball-

W&L - 6-2
Northumberland 5-4
Rappahannock 4-4
Colonial Beach 3-4
Lancaster 2-4
Essex 2-6

Local power from the Tidewater- Mathews is 5-0 I think.

any updates?

Last night, Northumberland over Rapp 3-0 and W&L over Essex 3-0.

In a battle of the local top JV teams, Rapp JV (7-0 or 8-0) over NHS JV who was 7-1 coming in.

Giles and Radford are undefeated at the moment. Not sure on Auburn, but they are generally up there as well.

NND Volleyball update

Northumberland moves to 1st place in the district (district and overall record)

Northumberland 8-4
W&L 6-3
Rappahannock 6-4
Colonial Beach 4-6
Essex 2-7

Mathews is 7-0.

Rapp upset then #1 W&L last week in a loud, packed house (Rapp has pulled them in v NHS and W&L). I like loud and rowdy (this ain't tennis people).

I thought W&L would win, they got some size and talent. W&L's coach is a energetic one on the sideline (I like it). However, Rapp pulled it out even with their small size and loss of it's stars last season. Must be the coaching.

Rappahannock JV is 10-0 (best record in history and tops in Region). This coupled with Rapp's varsity's 1st NND title ever in V-ball last season speaks well to the program.

In other NND sports news, Northumberland Golf claimed the NND title this week.

The recent string of sports success for Northumberland continues unabated.
