W&L 2004 graduate Joe Taylor is coming home!
Taylor is a Washington & Lee alumni and former student of Chesapeake Bay Governor's School. He played football, basketball, baseball, and track & field from 2000 to 2004. In football, he was the Virginia Class "A" State Player of the Year and he led his team to the state championship in 2001. After high school, Taylor attended the U.S. Naval Academy where he continued his football career. He played as quarterback, safety, outside linebacker and a variety of special teams. In 2009, he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering. Coming out of the Naval Academy, he became a Transport Platoon Commander in which he oversaw 40 plus Marines. Other positions he assumed included becoming an Afghan Uniform Police Logistics Officer and Advisor as well as moving on to become a Marine Mentor and Leadership Instructor to 200 students at the U.S. Naval Academy. Upon return to the Academy, he became the Sprint Football team's Quarterbacks Coach and Offensive Coordinator. After three seasons, he became the Head Sprint Football Coach of Post University. Coach Taylor joins W&L as a STEM teacher in the CTE program.
