Takeaways -

1) W&L played one of its worst games this season against an inspired, improved and tough NND rival - NHS.

2) Passing/setting game was off tonight for WL- (off for NHS as well).

3) This was definitely a major trap game for the Eagles.

4) W&L looked good tonight, mainly on D (well coached). One of their sophomore girls had 18 blocks. 18!

5) This was only the 3rd win over NHS for W&L in over 10 years so a big win no matter what. Coach Hutt and his staff are 2-0 v the Indians this year.

6) W&L has already defeated this season the three main (historically best) volleyball programs in the NND.

7) W&L had to take a detour to get all the way to Heathsville. I'm still blown away that they were able to win despite a road being washed out.

8) W&L had only one practice since their last win - that's five days. Storms and other issues. They have their 3rd game in four days tomorrow night against in county rival Colonial Beach. This is a tough stretch after having to travel to King William Monday night. 3 games in four days!

9) W&L faced serious adversity with the Indians pushing it to 5 games. They survived despite NHS Dig Pink night.

10) W&L lost their Libero early in the season due to an ACL tear and then their back up Libero last week, yet they were able to rally around the challenges. On September 8th, one of their best hitters/blockers rolled her ankle and missed a couple games. I hope that she continues to heal.

Still won - W&L is now 14-4. Not bad I'd say....

Outstanding. Well done to the W&L girls. They have some really, tall and athletic girls (and very friendly). So glad that W&L was able to have some recent success.

I saw W&L play this year - lost a tough one to Rapp.

Good luck to W&L in the playoffs. If y'all play Riverheads, I hope that you can knock them off.
