Brings back a lot of good memories from growing up in the Lynchburg area and watching this rivalry game. I grew up in Rustburg so the biggest rivalry game in the area to me was between the Red Devils and the Bees, but I got to see a couple of Jug Bowl matchups as well.

I got married young and my first grown up job was working at the Postal Service REC right off 5th St. Unfortunately, I had to work Fri nights so I wasn't able to make it to the games for several years. I do remember the game I could pick up on the radio was the EC Glass Hilltoppers and they were led by an amazing QB named Andre Kendrick. I never got to see him play, but how ironic that I will get to see his son DreSean play QB in Salem Stadium this Fri nearly 25 years later.

I really admire the work that Coach Woody, his staff, and the players, have put in both on and off the field. I'm also very impressed with the job that Coach Bradley, his staff, and the players, have put in both on and off the field. They're both involved in community service, focused on good grades, and preparing these young men for life. Kudos to both of these staffs and the young men for putting in the work.
