Coach Jim Cobb passed away unexpectedly yesterday morning, (heart attack). Coach Cobb was at Patrick Henry Ashland for many many years under Head Coach Ray Long.
When Coach Cobb retired, he continued to teach Drivers Ed at PH, mainly so he could continue to have contact with, and mentor kids. There is no way to know how many kids Coach Cobb helped become a better person simply from the example he set through his personal honesty and integrity.
I have personally known Coach Cobb and his family since the 80's, and I'm still in shock that he has left us. His knowledge of the game, his wit, and his ready laugh will be missed by all. May God provide this wonderful family with His comforting hand of grace.
