Chris McGahren, the starting shooting guard for Western Albemarle High School's Boys Varsity basketball team, is out for six weeks due to an injury to the face he suffered during the 3rd place game of the Daily Progress Tournament against St. Anne's Belfield on December 28th. McGahren got surgery on Tuesday, the same day his team defeated Louisa County 66-33. A junior, he and his fellow back court guard and all-state selection last year Ryan Ingram had led Western to a 7-3 record this year. He will sure be missed Friday night as the Warriors host district rival Charlottesville (9-3, 4-1 district) at 7:30pm.
