The old adage that you throw records out the window with rivalry games certainly applied tonight. Centreville gave Westfield a game and made Westfield work hard to get a 27-19 win.

CV started the game at their own 15 yard line and after a three plays gained only six yards they punted. The punt carried to the 50 yard line where WF's Morin fielded it and went down the home sideline all the way to the CV 7 yard line. On the first play from scrimmage WF's H. Johnson ran it in and WF led, 7-0 (Wiemann XP) with 10:00 remaining in the first quarter. CV's next possession netted 18 yards before they punted again to give WF a good starting position at the WF 48 yard line. WF moved inside the red zone but stalled and settled for a 26 yard Wiemann FG to extend the lead to 10-0 with 2:44 remaining in the first quarter. CV then went 71 yards to score on a 6 yard bootleg by Shields to pull within 10-6 at the 7:56 mark of the second quarter, as CV elected to try a trick 2XP that failed. WF's next possession started at their own 37 yard line and again moved inside the CV red zone, but they again settled for a 30 yard FG from Wiemann and the lead was 13-6 with about 4-5 minutes left in the half. CV's next drive then went 70 yards, the big play being a Shields to Marion 52 yard pass down the middle to the WF 9 yard line, and CV evened the score at 13-13 when Marion scored on a 2 yard run (Gonzalez XP) with 3:30 remaining in the half. WF's next possession end in a punt that was blocked by CV's Person, with WF's Coffield recovering but unable to reach the first down marker. CV was unable to score and the teams went to the locker room tied at 13.

WF received the second half KO at their 38 yard line and moved to the CV 34 yard line where they faced a 4th and 5. Electing to go for it, CV jumped offsides and WF had a new set of downs. They took advantage and scored on a drive that consumed almost 8 minutes of clock when Lee ran it in from one yard out and WF retook the lead, 20-13 (Wiemann XP) with 4:09 remaining in the third quarter. After CV went three and out on their next possession a short punt that went out of bounds gave WF a short field at the CV 42 yard line. After an illegal procedure penalty pushed WF back to the CV 47 yard line, WF's Carlson found Morin for a 47 yard passing TD and WF extended the lead to 27-13 (Wiemann XP) with 2:55 to go in the third quarter. CV's next possession started on their 35 yard line and moved to the WF 31 yard line where CV faced a 4th and 3. CV's Shields dropped back to pass but was pressured and tried to run up the middle but he came up well short of the first down. WF took over on their own 31 yard line, but after a holding penalty pushed WF back to their own 21 yard line a Carlson pass was left short and CV's Mitchell intercepted the pass at the WF 37 yard line. CV failed to move the ball and punted; WF returned the ball from inside their own 5 yard line to the WF 19 yard line. On this possession WF got a first down before WF's B. Johnson fumbled and CV's Person recovered at the WF 37 yard line to give CV an opportunity to cut into the lead. CV would then score when Shields found Pilgrim for a 10 yard TD pass. WF's Morin blocked Gonzalez's XP and the WF lead was down to 27-19 with 4:01 remaining in the game. WF's final drive managed to get two first downs and that allowed them to run out the clock for a 27-19 win.
