Good as any list for now. Isn't it 4A East now?

Teams in 4A East this year that qualified for the playoffs last season regardless of previous classification:
1. Great Bridge (5a South)
2. King's Fork
3. Church land
4. Lake Taylor
5. Grafton
6. Heritage
7. Lafayette (3a East)
8. Smithfield
9. Courtland (4a North)
10. Eastern View (4a North)
11. Louisa (4a North)
12. Dinwiddie
13. Hanover
14. Huguenot (3a East)
15. Monacan
16. Powhatan

We lost 5 playoff teams from a year ago to 3a East (Phoebus, Norcom, Lakeland, Tabb, and Booker T) and 1 to 5a South (Nansemond River) but gained 6 teams that were playoff qualifiers a year ago. Should make for an interesting playoff and some interesting matchups.

I substituted Smithfield for Chancellor, on LT 93's list, otherwise, that's my choices.

And, if I had to select one more as possibly sneaking in other than either of these two, I think I would pick Midlothian.

Since I'm killing time using last seasons playoff power ratings the 4A East playoffs would have been:

1. Lake Taylor (32.8) vs. 16. Denbigh (21.4)
8. Eastern View (27.8) vs. 9. Hanover (27.5)

4. Courtland (29.5) vs. 13. Grafton (23.6)
5.. Monacan (29.4) vs. 12. Louisa (25.8)

3. Lafayette (29.9) vs. 14. Smithfield (21.8)
6. King's Fork (28.8) vs. 11. Great Bridge (26.3)

2. Heritage (31.1) vs. 15. Churchland (21.6)
7. Powhatan (28.3) vs. 10. Dinwiddie (27.0)

Interesting matchups with the former 4A North teams playing some tough teams.

4A West Playoffs using last years numbers

1. Salem (32.4) vs. 16. Amherst (21.1)
8. Fleming (25.1) vs. 9. James Wood (23.7)

4. GW (29.8) vs. 13. Loudoun Co. (21.9)
5. Sherando (29.4) vs. 12. Pulaski (22.9)

3. Liberty-Bealeton (30.5) vs. 14. Charlottesville (21.5)
6. Woodgrove (27.0) vs. 11. Fauquier (23.1)

2. Jefferson Forest (31.2) vs. 15. Handley (21.2)
7. Loudoun Valley (26.3) vs. 10. Dominion (23.1)

Pains me to say it because I'd love to see them left home every year, but I think Chancellor has too much talent to not sneak in. That QB is the real deal and if they can find another WR to go with the 6'4 kid he will put up some crazy numbers this season.

Also agree here. It was just 2 years ago that Bob Oliver had to go with a team that included 8 Freshman starters. Even with a team with leadership like Steven Moss, a lot of players just gave up. Last year showed some improvement but expectations couldn't have been high with a Freshman QB. Still, he showed remarkable potential for someone so young. So here are the Chargers. Still a young team but many with 2 full years of Varsity experience. That just doesn't happen often and despite two miserable years in a row, Bob Oliver is a heck of a Football Coach. I think they surprise some folks this year.

I hear 4A West only taking 12 teams next year.

Thanks! Looks like there will be change all across 4A in the East pods and in the West 12 teams?? Still haven't gotten an official word, and I talked to my coaching source out West and he didn't know for sure either.

I tried to PM you but it won't let me, but I thought I'd throw that tease out there.
Why would this be a secret when many other schools have their 2015 schedules already published on their home page. Including scrimmages. Start acting like a program if you want to be a program.

:D Ahhh, the ignore feature works much better since the update.

Ostrich mode. Of course. Just FYI, my Blueberries haven't scrimmaged anything under a 5A team since 2009. north Stafford, Mountain View, Brook Point, Broad Run, Briar Woods come to mind immediately but there are plenty more. And isn't that odd, those same kids won't scrimmage or play against their 1st 4A opponent until their 3rd game of the season.........Louisa. GL with your little secret and GL in 2015.
