Why no home field advantage in soccer?

Does anyone know why No. 1 seeds in soccer playoffs do not get home field for first few rounds like they get in football?
Ridiculous that top seeds have to go on the road in 2nd round and beyond.

If by "2d round" you mean the regional level playoffs after districts, #1s are at home unless there are two #1s in the regional final. One has to go on the road so the VHSL sets the bracket and usually states that if two #1s meet the designated home team for that game is on the top line of the bracket. Same for the state level. There can be other factors, like seating and field playability, but those are rare.
