XCROSS got the safety for rhs, 47 and countingConfirmed with RHS:

I wanted to go to this one ! Now I have to wait another week.XCROSS got the safety for rhs, 47 and counting
All of the other forfeits this year have been posted as 2-0. "Safety" is the "score", I assume, can't score 1 point without a TD and the kicked XP, I believe is the theory.I'm pretty certain the score should be recorded as 1-0
TerribleI bet the Tigers would have played and put up a good fight ! Covid my A$$ .
I agree. Given the choice between Draft and Gap, no matter who is playing, I would go to the Draft any night for that exact reason.Well this sucks. I absolutely hate to watch a game at Gap with the funky layout. May check out Draft/CC instead
Im with you, absolutely hate watching games at Gap, and at Wilson is just as bad. Going to watch Draft put a whoopin on Clarke!! HahaI agree. Given the choice between Draft and Gap, no matter who is playing, I would go to the Draft any night for that exact reason.
I prefer to call it a "unique" layout... is the pressbox still stuck between the stands on the visitors side?Well this sucks. I absolutely hate to watch a game at Gap with the funky layout. May check out Draft/CC instead
Cool...guess some scores need to be updated from earlier in the season. They've been posted all year as 2-0.From the NFHS Football Rule Book regarding forfeiture before play has started:
Game score is: Offended Team: 1, Opponent: 0.
I found it under Rule 8 Section 1 regarding point values
If WC had to play anyone other than Riverhead they would played just my thoughts , has 1a football officially quit ?Gotta give WC some credit here. Lowest point total of the year for the Gladiators...
I think forfeits are always 2-0. But 1-0 sounds so much better and helps to tell the difference between a forfeit and a very low scoring game.
I can say that if a few school board members had the support of majority WC would not have fielded a team this year. Its my understanding alot of the teams in that area were lucky to play this year.If WC had to play anyone other than Riverhead they would played just my thoughts , has 1a football officially quit ?
The visitor's side is where the pressbox should be. As for there being no seating below the pressbox, that's what bothers me.I prefer to call it a "unique" layout... is the pressbox still stuck between the stands on the visitors side?
We've definitely had this discussion in the past and I know we've voiced our concerns about that eventually happening. I'm willing to give a pass to last spring and this fall but if it's a trend we continue to see next season then we'll soon be waving bye bye to smaller school football IMO. I do not blame Riverheads at all. My prediction at the time was that you'd start to see other schools moving down from 2A to 1A and we're seeing that happen now. Giles, while perhaps not as strong as they once were, and if what I've been reading is true..Graham possibly in the next couple of years. If Graham drops then it's curtains on the smaller 1A schools. If WC had to play anyone other than Riverhead they would played just my thoughts , has 1a football officially quit ?
