XCROSS got the safety for rhs, 47 and counting

I'm pretty certain the score should be recorded as 1-0
All of the other forfeits this year have been posted as 2-0. "Safety" is the "score", I assume, can't score 1 point without a TD and the kicked XP, I believe is the theory.

Gotta give WC some credit here. Lowest point total of the year for the Gladiators...

I think forfeits are always 2-0. But 1-0 sounds so much better and helps to tell the difference between a forfeit and a very low scoring game.

From the NFHS Football Rule Book regarding forfeiture before play has started:
Game score is: Offended Team: 1, Opponent: 0.
I found it under Rule 8 Section 1 regarding point values

The best place to watch a game at Gap is to stand on the concrete pad behind the home bleachers or to put it another way, between the bleachers and the gym. You get a little better elevation.

Cool...guess some scores need to be updated from earlier in the season. They've been posted all year as 2-0.
Thank you for posting! Good info! Appreciate it!

I can say that if a few school board members had the support of majority WC would not have fielded a team this year. Its my understanding alot of the teams in that area were lucky to play this year.

I prefer to call it a "unique" layout... is the pressbox still stuck between the stands on the visitors side?
The visitor's side is where the pressbox should be. As for there being no seating below the pressbox, that's what bothers me.

We've definitely had this discussion in the past and I know we've voiced our concerns about that eventually happening. I'm willing to give a pass to last spring and this fall but if it's a trend we continue to see next season then we'll soon be waving bye bye to smaller school football IMO. I do not blame Riverheads at all. My prediction at the time was that you'd start to see other schools moving down from 2A to 1A and we're seeing that happen now. Giles, while perhaps not as strong as they once were, and if what I've been reading is true..Graham possibly in the next couple of years. If Graham drops then it's curtains on the smaller 1A schools.

I hated to see the rise of 8 man for this reason as it's an easy out. And most of the smaller VISAA schools have already moved to that, along with Chincoteague this season. Quantico dropped their program due to not having enough smaller schools to play. It's only a matter of time before this hits the public school ranks sadly. I hate the thought of becoming like Maryland.
