No! It goes to the highest seed. Maury is a #1 seed, they would be home.Do they have the highest rating of all teams left?Just wondering.
HS had the highest rating, Maury was 2ndNo! It goes to the highest seed. Maury is a #1 seed, they would be home.
Manchester and Salem are, both #2 seeds, it would be whoever has the highest point total. Probably Manchester.
Varina would be away regardless. Because they are the lowest, a 4 seed.

Thanks for the clarification. If memory serves me correct had Deep Run advanced they would have also hosted over Maury and traveled to Salem VB. 5B had pretty stout power ratings. If Manchester wins they would host the winner of Salem/Maury as they have a 33.7 VHSL Rating...
33.7 Manchester
33.6 Salem
33.2 Maury
30.6 Varina
Plain and simple Manchester wins, they host, Varina wins they are going down to the 757.
Who is the 1 seed from that region.Your description is correct but, Maury is a #2 seed.
Remember, playoffs don't count with poi g calculations. Just regular season. If Manchester wins they would host the winner of Salem/Maury as they have a 33.7 VHSL Rating...

You better recheck your facts. Use to be that the semis rotated between regions on an alternating basis. That was subsequently scrapped and I believe points are now the determining factor. In fact if you go to www.vhsl.org and then to the football page it specifically identifies the semis as located at higher seed based on power ratings. If Salem wins (1 seed), they would host.

My apologies and I stand corrected.@springer76, you are incorrect. Power points even count in the State Final. The team with the higher point value is the home team. @CRF4Dan post is right on the money. You can find it on the vhsl website. Power points do not increase or decrease after the end of the regular season.
I think HS would've been the only 804 team that would've hosted next week. But.....Would Manchester host the state semifinal next week with a win over Varina?
This question is a perfect example of "why you play the game". The question assumed Manchester would win and have a chance to host a state semi-final. It could have been asked differently. Maybe "Will the winner of the Manchester/Varina game host the semi-final state game?".
