Boo Williams suffered its fourth straight loss to close out their play in Minnesota and drop to 6-11 on the Nike EYBL as the Oakland Soldiers out of California cruised, 73-54 on Monday morning.
Five different players scored in double-figures for Oakland Soldiers with Christian Terrell (12 points), Ira Lee (12 points), Damari Milstead (11 points), Jordan Ford (11 points) and Carlos Johnson (10 points). Oakland shot a blistering 61% from the field on offense and committed just eight personal fouls on defense.
Though Boo Williams enjoyed a 38-27 advantage on the backboards, they shot only 35% from the field and 5-for-21 from three-point distance. Deshawn Corprew was their only scorer in double-figures with 26 points on 10-of-20 shooting, but he did have five of their 13 turnovers.
Despite being scoreless, Bethel 6-foot-11 center Dajour Dickens from the Class of 2017 had an impact with 11 rebounds. King's Fork's Keith Stagg chipped in nine points and former Woodside guard Devante Carter added seven.
While it is not official, it looks very unlikely that Boo Williams will receive a spot to participate in Peach Jam, the EYBL Finals, held in North Augusta, South Carolina during the July live recruiting period. They are only eligible for one of the wild card berths, not an automatic spot, and there are teams with better records who are also eligible for those spots.
