CHANCE HARMAN MEMORIAL FUND COACHING CLINIC SEPTEMBER 14, 2013

The Chance Harman Memorial Fund
will be hosting a coaching clinic Saturday September 14, 2013 at Floyd
County High School. The event is open for any player, parent, coach, or
anyone just wanting to learn more about basketball. The event will
benefit the Chance Harman Foundation. This foundation was established
in 2007 after Floyd County Boys Basketball Coach Brian Harman lost his 4
year old son Chance to a brain tumor. The foundation is known for its
annual Chance Harman Classic which every January host some of the best
players, coaches, and teams not only from the State of Virginia, but the
nation. Next year it will move to a two day event with 24 teams with
two out of state teams and 1 team traveling from Austria to
participate. Over the last 6 years the foundation has been able to
raise over $100,000.00 for pediatric cancer research at Duke University
Hospital and give out over 30+ local scholarships. Here are this years

1:15 - Page Moir, Roanoke College Head Coach (Best things I've seen in coaching)


Page Moir has over 25 years coaching experience as the head Men's Basketball Coach at Roanoke College in

Salem, VA. Moir's program at Roanoke College is one of the most
respected programs in NCAA Division III basketball. Back in 2003, Page
Moir became the winningest coach in Roanoke College history, passing the
legendary Ed Green for the record. Also, in 2007 he became the ODAC
conference's second head coach to reach
300+ wins. Moir is the winningest and longest tenured active coach in the ODAC. Roanoke College Men's Basketball became the 21st program in NCAA Division III history to reach 1,300 program wins during the 2011-12
season.

2:00 - Rick Cormany, Radford High School Head Coach (Radford Bobcat's Simulated Practice)


Coach Cormany's intense style of coaching is very successful as he has an overall record of 531-221 in
30 years of being a head high school coach. Currently Coach Cormany is entering his 21st season as the Head Coach at Radford High School. Coach Cormany has spent the past twenty seasons compiling one of the most impressive resumes in the Virginia High School League. Radford has won thirteen out of the last fourteen regular season and tournament championships in the Three Rivers District. Coach
Cormany has coached his Bobcats to four Region C Championships,
appeared in the state playoffs ten out of the past fourteen years
including making it to the final four six times, been the state runner
up two times and won the State Championship three out of the last five
years (2009, 2011, 2013). Cormany has been named the Three Rivers District Coach of the Year eleven out of the past fourteen years including the last eight years in a row. Coach Cormany has also been named the Region C Coach of the Year three times and the State Coach of the Year three times.



2:45 - Billy Hicks, Cave Spring High School Head Coach (Special situations & how to build a successful high school program)


In 1996, Coach Hicks was named Head Boys Basketball Coach at his alma mater. During his 17 years as head

coach, the Knights have won 261 games, 3 State Championships (2002,
2009, 2010) 5 Regional Championships (2002, 2003, 2009, 2010, 2012) and 6
District Championships. Several of Coach Hicks' former players have
moved on to play at the next level including JJ Redick (Duke/LA
Clippers) and Josh Henderson (Vanderbilt).

Gabriel- University of New Hampshire, Carlos Arroyo- Chowan University.
The team was ranked #1 for most of the year and finished ranked in the
top ten.




4:15 - Bryce Stanhope, I'm Possible Training, NBA & National Trainer (I'm Possible workout)


Bryce Stanhope is an I'm Possible National Trainer, NBA skills coach, and Training Center Director at two
Michigan
locations. Bryce has worked with players of all ages from young and
rising talent all the way up to top college players from UNC, Ohio
State, Penn State and a number of NBA player's such as Nolan Smith and
Philadelphia 76er, Evan Turner.





5:15 - Ed Green, North Cross School (Creating court adjustments for the opposition)

Ed Green has spent his career in academics, administration, and coaching basketball. His coaching
record is 260-83, with a 76% winning percentage. He was the South Atlantic Coach of the Year for 5
consecutive years. At the Final Four banquet, he was honored 5 times as Regional Coach of the Year or
Conference Coach of the Year. His teams won 7 conference championships. He was selected to NCAA
postseason tournaments 8 of his last 10 collegiate coaching years. Coach Green was the Roanoke
College head basketball coach for 12 years, and served as an assistant coach there previously. Green
is an inspirational role model as well as an example of integrity and honesty.
