Heritage takes the opening kickoff at their own 10 yard line and returns it near midfield. Pioneers starting at their own 48 yard line.
Booker-Felder to the 6 yard line on 2nd and goal. 3rd down for the Heritage offense at the Phantoms 6.
Incomplete pass by Bateman and Phoebus holds. The Phantoms offense will take the field at their own 3 yard line.
Phoebus can't get anything going on 2nd or 3rd and now it's 4th down. Phantoms in position to punt.
Jaciere Bateman scrambles on 3rd down and he finds Marquis White at the 24 yard line to extend the drive. 1st down Pioneers.
Bateman throws it away out of bounds and another 3rd down playing coming up. 3rd and 9 at the Phoebus 23.
Pass to Booker-Felder but it's short of the marker. Penalty declined on the offense. Phoebus offense back on the field.
And on 1st down from their own 17, quarterback Jayden Earley finds Jordan Bass for an 83 yard score. Phantoms on the scoreboard 1st.
Ashoy Jackson with the extra point and Phoebus strikes 1st. Phantoms 7, Heritage-Lynchburg 0, 3:12 remaining in the opening quarter.
Heritage returns the kickoff to their 35 yard line. Pioneers offense about to begin their 3rd drive of the game.
Phoebus defense starting to turn up the heat on Bateman. The senior is forced to scramble and throw the ball away. Pioneers set to punt from their 36 yard line.
Good bounce for the Pioneers resulting in a 52 yard punt. Phoebus takes possession on their own 12 yard line.
And another long bomb for the Phantoms offense. This time Jayden Earley finds Jordan Bass once again for 75 yard scoring strike. Phoebus takes a two score lead.
Jackson's extra point makes it Phoebus 14, Heritage 0. 1 second remaining in the opening quarter.
End of the 1st quarter. Phoebus 14, Heritage 0. Pioneers will begin the second quarter on offense at their own 33 yard line.
Loss of 4 yards on 1st down for Heritage and Bateman's pass goes out of bounds on second. 3rd and 14 coming up for the Pioneers.
DeSean Richardson and Mychal McMullin in the backfield and put Bateman under duress to force 4th down for the Heritage offense.

Bateman scrambles again in the backfield before getting back to the line of scrimmage where he is pulled down by Taysean Stevenson.
Two yard run by the Pioneers on 2nd down.. On 3rd and 8, Bateman loses 10 yards after being sacked by Anthony Reddick III.
Gain of 6 on 2nd down by Earley on the ground. 3rd and 4 for Phoebus at the Heritage 49 yard line.
TyReon Taylor takes it for a 14 yard run to extend the drive. 1st down at the Heritage 35 yard line.
And Taylor again on what looks like the same play up the middle drags several Pioneers defenders with him to the 16 yard line. 1st down Phoebus.
