KING WILLIAM (2-0) at ESSEX (2-0) Saturday 2PM

The two teams who fully expect to be playing in late November and hopefully into December meet up in a huge contest! The Cavaliers are looking solid in every way dominating in their first two contests led with by the accurate passer Lance Alfonso at quarterback. Alfonso has passed for 377 yards and 6 touchdowns this season and goes through his progressions well. Demond Claiborne, Jayveon Robinson, and Jalen Young are forces to be reckon with that will keep any defense on edge.

Essex has definitely reloaded as they pulled away from Sussex Central in game one and dominated Surry, the Trojans are now ready to do battle with the Cavaliers. The leader of the offense for Essex is quarterback Ashton Ashlock who is a true dual threat quarterback. Running back Tahraun Hammond has the moves to leave defenders standing still in a daze. Takeyo Day is a threat whenever he touches the ball to score. Their top receiver and speedster Avante Banks who is a true game breaker capable of torching defenders at anytime.

Cavaliers Keys to Victory: The Trojans are aggressive defensively and look for King William to take advantage. If they can't get to Alfonso consistently then their will be big play opportunities. If King William can win the line of scrimmage then it will be business as usually for Coach Dylan DeHart's bunch.

Trojans Keys to Victory: Its not rocket science, the Trojans have to pressure the pocket and create turnovers. They may have to do it with their defensive front and not blitz a lot. If Essex has to blitz in order to make things happen King William will take full advantage. Ashlock will need run instead of forcing passes.

BOTTOMLINE: Neither qb will be able to just relax and the pocket and it will be a game of quick decisions. That edge will go to Cavaliers but the Trojans have the speed to overcome some mistakes.

PREDICTION: King William 24 Essex 19

PORTSMOUTH CHRISTIAN (2-0) at KING & QUEEN (2-0)

The Royal Tigers have a chance to go 3-0 for the first time since 2001. King & Queen has been getting outstanding play from quarterback Malik Holmes and wide receiver DeAndre Hill. To pull off the victory Friday they will also need solid production on the ground from running back Charles Mills. The Patriots Chase Harsh will be trying to match Holmes production on the road.

PREDICTION: King & Queen 36 Portsmouth Christian 32

RIVERHEADS (2-0) at EAST ROCKINGHAM (1-0)

Last season, East Rockingham handled the Gladiators in a 28-0 victory. The defending 1A champions will be looking for payback. Zac Smiley and Trevor Roberts will lead the strong rushing attack that plans to get rolling from the start. Freshman quarterback Bennett Dunlap has the arm to be the x-factor in this one.

PREDICTION: Riverheads 24 East Rockingham 13
