The tradition continues as week 0 is here and the action is ready to begin! Last year at this time it was disappointing for the high school level as many sat at home dreaming of a winter of football. Many would not get that dream to become reality either! Our situation has fortunately changed for the better and nearly all schools are back in action! Friday night we get restarted in a big way! Let's take a look at how we expect things to play out.

KING WILLIAM at GOOCHLAND
Goochland has been a powerhouse and they get to host the team that is predicted to meet up with Appomattox for it all, King William. The Cavaliers feature Demond Claiborne who is arguably one of the best running backs in the state and they also feature their dual threat quarterback Jayveon Robinson who is highly accurate. Making up for loss time as covid stopped their spring playoff, the Cavalier nation is eager to make some noise.

Bottomline: CJ Towles and the Bulldogs will be alot for the Cavs run defense to handle.

Prediction: Goochland 34 King William 20

SUSSEX CENTRAL at ESSEX
The Trojans will be eager to see what this new group is going to do. Running back Dorian Harris debut is highly anticipated like Saqoun Barkely as he is expected to be key in the Essex offensive attack. The Tigers are anxious to get football going as well and the opponent couldn't be better. Both squads have big games in September that will make their path in November. Expect this one to be worth all the admission price.

Bottomline: Mistakes can easily flip this one but whoever spends less time going to the air should have success in this one.

Prediction: Essex 20 Sussex Central 18

KING & QUEEN CENTRAL at COLONIAL BEACH
The Royal Tigers have upgraded their schedule and go toe-to-toe with the Drifters and their single wing attack that can easily light up the scoreboard if you are not ready. King & Queen's Malik Holmes is expected to guide the Tigers' offense to several big scores this season and his heroics will be called upon on the road.

Bottomline: The Royal Tigers defense bended but didn't break in the spring. They should get plenty of pressure on the steamy night.

Prediction: King & Queen Central 42 Colonial Beach 30
