Riverheads is on deck to break records if they continue on winning. Titles consecutively and winning overall.

The final week has arrived in a season helping us cross the bridge to normalcy. There were several ups and downs due to postponements and excitement from the joy of just being able to play! Hopefully, this helped many teams get back into gear and will be ready for a highly anticipated fall season. As for now we prepare for what should be a thrilling playoffs where many teams have a great chance of getting to the state playoffs than ever before.

Last week, King William didn't let a slow start and miscues disrupt their quest to finish the regular season undefeated. Southampton's Willis Walton got the Indians on the board first but it would be Desmond Claiborne's 4 touchdown performance would pull the Cavaliers away with ease to win 34-13. Claiborne also picked up an offer from UVA this week. The Cavalier's contest with Poquoson has been cancelled due to covid issues with the Bull Islanders.

King & Queen Central will be the #1 seed in the Region A Class 1 semi-finals as they coasted over Lancaster 60-0. The Royal Tigers under Coach Dylan DeHart are giving a great preview now of even more greatness expected this fall.

William Campbell and Altavista will face off with the loser going to Greenville and playing the top seeded Riverhead Gladiators. The Gladiators will play host to the biggest game in the Valley as they face off against undefeated Stuarts Draft.

Now let's take a look at the predictions for this week's action:

Fireworks will be on the field on this huge Shenandoah Valley match up.

Riverheads (5-0) at Stuarts Draft (5-0)
Riverheads comes on a 31-game winning streak and the Cougars look to put a stop to that tonight. Draft is much improved over last year's squad and it will be a battle of the weapons each team can deploy to capture the early momentum and take that confidence into the post season. Aaron Nice will need to come up big for the Cougars and Zac Smiley should be ready to lead the fleet of Gladiator backs in this power versus speed match up.

PREDICTION: Riverheads 34 Stuarts Draft 18

William Campbell (2-3) at Altavista (2-3)
Altavista comes in after avenging their initial lost to Nelson County by turning the tables and winning 35-14. The Colonels will want to start a winning streak and travel to Lunenburg for the playoffs. William Campbell is coming off a big 53-0 lost to powerhouse Appomattox and must stop the running attack of Altavista in order to capture a better seed.

PREDICTION: Altavista 27 William Campbell 24

OTHER PREDICTIONS:

Cumberland 22 Rappahannock Co. 14
Central Lunenburg 44 Randolph-Henry 17
Northumberland 14 Northampton 12
Nottoway 24 Amelia Co. 14
