We survived Dorian's pause and finished the schedule in the east. Here are some run downs and scores as we get ready for Week 3!


KING WILLIAM 65 BRUTON 6

King William took care of business in the 1st half and had no trouble at all. Lance Alfonso was excellent going 10-12 for 246 yards and 5 touchdowns. No Cavalier running exceeded 4 carries on the night, as Jalen Young had 4 rushes for 50 yards. Demond Claiborne was the leading receiver with 127 yards off 4 grabs and a touchdown. King William will travel to Tappahannock to face the reloaded Essex Trojans on Saturday at 2pm.

RIVERHEADS 38 GLENVAR 21

The Gladiators were able to go toe-to-toe with Glenvar and then shutting them down when it mattered most to get a key home victory. Zach Smiley was a workhorse carrying 27 times 178 yards while Trevor Roberts added 120 yards on 20 carries to propel Riverheads. The key minute of the game came when Roberts scored on a 9 yard run to put Riverheads up 14-7. Aiden Wolk for Glenvar would find Nick Seabolt for a 67-yard touchdown pass to tie it up 14-14. Then on the ensuing kickoff, Braeson Fulton would return the kick-off 95 yards for touchdown to give Riverheads a 21-14 lead at the break. The Gladiators (2-0) got more defensive in the second half out scoring the Highlanders 17-7 the rest of the way.


KING & QUEEN 32 WINDSOR 19

Charles Mills sparked the Royal Tigers rushing attack as King & Queen got a big win on the road at Windsor. Mills had 11 carries for 166 yards and 2 touchdowns. DeAndre Hill continues to show he is one of the top receivers in the region as he had 11 catches for 207 yards and 3 touchdowns. The Royal Tigers (2-0) host the Patriots of Portsmouth Christian (2-0) on Friday.
