Dan River boys and girls soccer swept their season opener at Patrick County on Monday, March 14.
The Lady Wildcats played their first regular season game since 2019 (2020 - Pandemic; 2021 - Not enough players) last night at Patrick County. Dan River defeated the Cougars 3-1. Senior twins Kathryn and Emily Saunders each had a goal, while Kathryn and senior Aaliyah Tate each had an assist. DR's other goal came on an own goal by the Cougars. Junior goalkeeper Lee-Lee Farmer had seven saves in her soccer debut.
DR's girls will play today (Tuesday) against GW at Dan Daniel Park and will play at Tunstall on Friday, March 18 - both games at 5:30PM.
Dan River boys took down Patrick County 4-2 on Monday night. Nathan Blevins and Josey Dauthe' each had a goal and an assist, while Dylan McFalls and Jordan Davis each had a goal and Bryan Rito-VIllar added an assist. Keeper Hayden Phelps had seven saves in the win.
