Riverbend 2023 tight end Mathias 'Mega' Barnwell has been a big name on the recruiting front since his freshman year. After all, he got offers before even playing varsity football, and at 6-foot-5, 240 pounds, he's a rare specimen.
Barnwell had committed to Penn State in June 2020, though has since backed off that pledge. He also changed schools from Spotsylvania to Riverbend after his freshman year.
There's no shortage of suitors for Barnwell at the next level, but as he preps for his junior season with the Bears, another Big Ten school. That would be Ohio State, who is really making a strong push for him.
