Justyn Fernandez, a 6-foot-5 combo guard from Virginia Episcopal, has seen his stock rise about as much as any prospect statewide in the Class of 2022 in the past few months.
Offers have trickled in from Norfolk State, Radford, Robert Morris, VCU and Virginia Tech since May alone to go a sheet that featured George Mason and La Salle prior to his stellar showing at the Hoop Group Southern Jam Fest event while playing with the DC Premier travel team.
Fernandez has three official visits scheduled for this month:
June 21-23 - George Mason University
June 24-25 - Princeton University
June 28-30 - Oregon St. University
Before coming to VES, Fernandez played at Monacan, where he averaged 16.5 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.4 steals per game for a team that reached the VHSL Class 4 State Tournament quarterfinals. After that, he reclassified and put up 17 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.3 steals per game at his new school.
