This information is straight from the VISAA

The VISAA football committee will set the four-team playoff bracket for each division, using the final point ratings, the final coaches' poll, and intra-division head-to-head results as guidance. The only limit on their determination is that no team who finishes lower than 6th in the final point ratings may be granted a playoff berth.

Basically, a team has to finish sixth or better in the final point ratings to be playoff-eligible. No team is guaranteed a playoff berth based on their rating alone-- the committee may choose to seed the teams in a division exactly according to their point rating or they may place any four of the top six in the bracket in any order.

All a team has to do to be playoff-eligible is to make the playoffs.

IN DIVISION I:
The following teams, even in their worst-case scenarios for the rest of their games, cannot finish out of the top 6, and so their playoff ELIGIBILITY (NOT their selection) is guaranteed: Flint Hill, Collegiate, St. Christopher's. The rest of Division I (at least down to and including Trinity Episcopal) has enough hypothetical points left on the table to reach the top 6 by the end of the regular season, but the further down the rankings a team is, the less likely this is.

IN DIVISION II:
Blue Ridge, even in their worst-case scenario for the rest of their games, cannot finish out of the top 6, and so their playoff ELIGIBILITY (NOT their selection) is guaranteed. The rest of Division II (at least down to and including Isle of Wight) has enough hypothetical points left on the table to reach the top 6 by the end of the regular season, but the further down the rankings a team is, the less likely this is. There is one team which has been mathematically eliminated. Portsmouth Christian cannot finish better than seventh, even in their best-case scenario.

IN DIVISION III:
The following teams, even in their worst-case scenarios for the rest of their games, cannot finish out of the top 6, and so their playoff ELIGIBILITY (NOT their selection) is guaranteed: Roanoke Catholic, Fuqua, Quantico. The rest of Division III (down to and including Richmond Christian) has enough hypothetical points left on the table to reach the top 6 by the end of the regular season, but the further down the rankings a team is, the less likely this is. One team in Division III is playoff-ineligible regardless of record or rating: Kenston Forest failed to meet VISAA scheduling requirements, playing only four VISAA-recognized regular season games.
