Possible changes coming from VHSL headquarters

Cut a round of playoffs, bye week, and preseason from 4 to 3 weeks. But I wouldn't cut a scrimmage.

Cutting the bye week you have to be mindful of the referee shortage, that helped them out by not having as many games. At a minimum cut a round of playoffs, too many uncompetitive teams making the playoffs.

Seems to be a simple fix. Look around what other states are doing and try to emulate and improve upon that. Other states Start earlier by 2 weeks and end earlier too.

Instead of considering reducing the season, why not expand it to improve football's positive impact upon each area's community? Florida enjoys a short Spring Season like colleges do. They even have a benefit game to help increase funding of a great sport? Florida has their own problems and in no way do they have extraordinary funding to support football above any other state yet they enjoy having some of the best football in the country.

Indiana starts their season 2 weeks earlier and ends it over Thanksgiving weekend each year!

Not rocket surgery, just a few tweaks here and there. Like why have freshman football unless every school is receiving the funding to support it. Instead of 6 Classes reduce it down to 4-5 and balance the differences in attendance by limiting the number if players allowed to participate on a bigger school's Varsity and JV team? If a school wants to play up or down a class then the appropriate number of player numbers would be adjusted accordingly!

There is some discussion about contraction, the options discussed was a 4 class system or a 5 class system.
I prefer a five classification system (if we used the current attendance fiqures)
Class 5
1-63
Class 4 64-126
Class 3 127-189
Class 2 190-252
Class 1 253-317
