The Princess Anne Lady Cavaliers are on the Drive for Five - their fifth State Championship under Head Coach Darnell Dozier, who discussed his team's 49-37 win over Maury in the 5A-South Regional Tournament on Friday night at Churchland High School in Portsmouth that secured his program's 11th trip to the State Final Four.
Now 25-1 overall on the campaign, Princess Anne was led by sophomore Gadiva Hubbard's 14 points and 12 rebounds. Hubbard was the Conference 9 Player of the Year Janayla White chipped in 11 rebounds.
Maury, which saw its season end at 22-5 overall, got 18 points from junior Chanette Hicks, a Virginia Tech commit, in defeat.
Dozier's Lady Cavs have played in the State Championship in six straight seasons.
