Collegiate (2-1) at Woodberry Forest (3-1)
Collegiate travels to Woodberry Forest for a matchup between D1 opponents. At first glance, it appears to be a good offense versus good defense matchup. The Cougars played in a rainstorm last week losing to Episcopal. They have not allowed more than 16 points in any game this season. Woodberry Forest has scored 40 points or more the last three weeks led by the passing duo of Lindell Stone and Terrell Jana.

Norfolk Academy (3-2) at Atlantic Shores (5-0)
Atlantic Shores will try to hold on to their #1 seed when they host Norfolk Academy at the Virginia Beach Sportsplex. The Seahawks haven't played a close game thru their first five wins. After missing the first game of the season quarterback Ryan Chamberlain is back to lead the Seahawks attack. Kelvin Watts is a playmaker on the defensive side of the ball. He has multiple touchdowns on the defensive end. Norfolk Christian has had an up-and-down season losing to two Richmond schools. Running back Tyler Tabor and quarterback Christian Randolph are the top offensive performers while Matthew Dalton is a star on defense. Atlantic Shores is on a roll and I give them the edge here.

Fuqua (4-0) at Roanoke Catholic (5-1)
Roanoke Catholic and Fuqua faceoff in what could be a D3 playoff preview. Fuqua has started the season undefeated while the Celtics haven't lost since the opening week of the season. Both teams rely on their running games. Fuqua has a committee of running backs including Ben Bailey and Ed Newman. Both running backs topped 100 yards last week. Roanoke Catholic has averaged over 57 ppg in their wins. Jamal Tyree has outstanding speed and cut ability. Ethan Wright is charged with opening running lanes for Tyree .Fuqua surprised me with the way they dominated Isle of Wight but I still like Roanoke Catholic in a close game.

St Stephens-St Agnes (3-1) at Episcopal (3-0)
The two city rivals will play for the Alexandria Private School championship. The Saints have started fast and running back Chance Legrand has 763 yards in four games while Brandon Bartley has seven rushing touchdowns. Naj Johnson has six sacks and 13 tackles. Episcopal quarterback Seth Agwunobi has improved every game and he has outstanding playmakers in running back Perris Jones and receiver Salim Turner-Muhammad among others. Litchfield Ajavon has been one of the top defenders on the Maroon who are loaded at the skill positions. I see Episcopal winning

Nansemond-Suffolk (2-3) at Blue Ridge (2-2)
There's a jumble of D2 teams hanging around the final two playoff spots. The Saints versus Barons matchup could be a deal breaker for the losing team. Nansemond Suffolk is passing the ball more this year but they are still a running team Shuan Faulk and Ehron Knight. The Barons will have trouble containing James Madison recruit Keshaun Moore who is a physical player. The Saints two wins have come against St Anne-Belfield and Christchurch. Blue Ridge routed Covenant to even their record at 2-2. Quarterback Justin Armwood doubles as a star linebacker and receiver Nazir Hopson is a homerun threat. Jahlil Puryear is another Barons All-State performer while Jack McLiney Jamison Harrison round out a stout defense. Look for Blue Ridge to get the win at home.
