Bishop Ireton kicker David Cooper was selected Virginiapreps.Com Private School Special Teams Player of the Week. Cooper nailed a 43-yard field goal in the rain to give the Cardinals a 10 - 6 lead late in the first quarter. His bloop kickoffs led to a fumble recovery as well. He made all five extra points in leading the Cardinals to victory on the first game played on the recently re-turfed Fannon Field.




Nansemond Suffolk linebacker Cole Christiansen was selected Virginiapreps.Com Private School Defensive Player of the Week. Christiansen led the Saints with seven solo stops including three sacks during a 43-14 win over Virginia Episcopal. Christensen was credited with seven tackles for loss while adding a defended pass and he forced a fumble.




Quarterback Blake LaRussa was selected Virginiapreps.Com Private School Offensive Teams Player of the Week. LaRussa passed for 241 yards and three touchdowns for Bishop Sullivan on 13 of 23 passing. He added 77 rushing yards on nine carries. LaRussa's touchdowns went for 31, 26, and 11 yards with two of them going to receiver Nick Pearce.

Kevin Hicks Offense

Bishop Sullivan running back Kevin Hicks gained 137 yards on 12 carries including three touchdown runs to help the Crusaders defeat St Anne's-Belfield. Hicks scored the games first touchdown on a 10-yard run and he scored on back-to-back touches in the third quarter. Hicks added 1 reception for 25 yards.
 
Blake LaRussa

Quarterback Blake LaRussa passed for 241 yards and three touchdowns for Bishop Sullivan on 13 of 23 passing. He added 77 rushing yards on nine carries. LaRussa's touchdowns went for 31, 26, and 11 yards with two of them going to receiver Nick Pearce.
 
Nick Pearce offense

Receiver Nick Pearce had six receptions for 75 yards and two scores for Bishop Sullivan in their win over St-Anne's-Belfield.
 
Kareem Johnson Offense

St Anne's-Belfield receiver Kareem Johnson finished with four receptions and a touchdown against Bishop Sullivan. He made a great two-handed grab while getting both feet down for his only touchdown. Johnson returned a kick 70-yards for a score but it was called back due to a penalty.
 
Noah Giles Offense

Noah Giles finished with a 185 yards and two touchdowns on six carries to lead Nansemond-Suffolk to a win over Virginia Episcopal. Giles had touchdown runs of runs of 84 and 74 yards.

North Cross -Jordan Lowery


North Cross receiver Jordan Lowery caught nine (9) passes for 131 yards including a long of 22 yards against Christchurch. He also added a 45-yard interception return for a touchdown.
 
North Cross Davis Call Defense


North Cross linebacker Davis Call had an agregate total of 10 tackles with four solo stops against Christchurch. Call put the pressure on with two quarterback sacks.

Drew Smith broke the game open with two touchdown receptions in the second quarter. He got behind the secondary for an 89 yard touchdown reception and "stole" a ball from a defensive back for a 27 yard scoring play just before halftime
