Private School Players of the Week 9

Fullback David Gough was selected Virginiapreps Private Schools Offensive Player of the Week. Gough scored four touchdowns while rushing for 142 yards in leading Nansemond-Suffolk to a 56-34 win over Greenbrier Christian. He also had two receptions for 21 yards.

Collegiate linebacker Reed Kellam was selected Virginiapreps Private Schools Defensive Player of the Week after collecting 11 solo tackles 4 assist 1 sack 5 tackles for loss in the Cougars win over Fork Union to keep their playoff hopes alive. Kellam had 3 stops behind the line of scrimmage on 4th and short stopping potention Fork Union drives.

Woodberry Forest senior kicker Liam Hedge was selected Virginiapreps Private Schools Special teams Player of the Week. Hedge made a 37-yard field goal against Benedictine and added an extra point in the Tigers 10-0 win. Hedge also had two touchbacks on kickoffs. The Tigers decided to punt and Hedge placed a high kick that was fair caught at the Benedictine 5-yard line by David Pilot. Woodberry Forest forced a 3-and-out and took over at the Cadets 39-yard line. They scored on the following drive.

Bishop Ireton senior linebacker Josh Ammon led a stout defensive effort with 14 tackles and a key 4th quarter interception in the win over Paul VI.

Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot Tanner Dobrucky

Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot sophomore Tanner Dobrucky had a combined 180 yards including two receiving touchdowns in the Knights win over Isle of Wight. Dobrucky had 5 receptions for 143 yards receiving while adding 37 yards rushing.
