Boo Williams
Dorian Finney-Smith
(6-foot-7) - someone asked me to compare
Finney-Smith with 5-star James McAdoo. Finney-Smith has the same type of skills
as McAdoo as he's able to shoot from the perimeter and finish high above the
rim. While McAdoo may be a bit more defined offensively, Finney-Smith brings a
lunch pale attitude with his rebounding and shot-blocking.

Team
Loaded Adjehi Baru
(6-foot-9) - Every year there is a player who has a breakout spring and starts to receive national attenion. This year Adjehi Baru can be added to the list
of high D1 prospects in the state of Virginia. Baru, who played for Steward School last
year?is an active, athletic, post player who?looks to score and makes things
happen when he gets the ball. He teamed with point guard Tyler Lewis on an
alley-oop for two and he stepped out and hit a corner jumper. Baru blocked five
shots in the first half during one game then sprinted up court to get in on the
action at the other end of the floor. Maryland has offered a scholarship.

Richmond Squires C.J Barksdale (6-foot-7) - very
skilled combo forward who is an excellent rebounder as well as a top shot
blocker. Barksdale had one of the best individual performances at the Hoop Group
tournament. His 41 points, 17 rebounds, five assists, and four blocks included a
three-pointer?in the Squires win over?the Adidas Gymrats. Barksdale,
who committed to?Virginia?Tech in January, is the?#3 ranked
Virginia?prospect in the 2011 class.??

Others -
Andre Washington (East Coast Fusion) needs to bulk up but he
has some agility for a 6-foot-10 player. Washington is a good shot
blocker.? Virginia Assault junior Isaac Freeman (Osbourn)
towered over most of the other post players. Fairfax Stars forward Nik
Biberaj
(6-foot-6) from South County High School and Richmond Squires
6-foot-7 Jordan Davis (STAB) both did their best work on the
offensive glass. Va Elite hoops forward Alex Brayboy (6-foot-6)
was very active inside and Wave center Darren Creary (6-foot-6) from Tallwood used his
bulk to create havoc down low.?It's hard to believe that Nick
Gorski
(6-foot-7) who plays for Team Loaded 16-under is only a
freshman. He plays winning basketball and he has a soft touch. Richmond Metro
sophomore Richard Smith (6-foot-6)?is another player that
does a lot of things well and seems to have unlimited potential to improve.

Backcourt

Richmond
Squires Pedro Berrios
(6-foot-2) - physical shooting guard adept at
scoring from both inside and out. Berrios has a strong upper body and he's a
scorer who is difficult matchup for both taller and smaller guards. He has
three-point range but he does not just settle for the jumper. While he has great
offensive skills, Berrios may have to prove he can play point guard to land a D1
scholarship.?There should be no such concerns with his offense.?

Virginia Assault Jarvis Threatt (6-foot-2) - We
continue with the theme of scoring point guards with Va Assualt guard Jarvis
Threatt who led his team in scoring during the Southern Jam Fest. Threatt is a
streaky shooter with all around good ball skills and the ability to score from
behind the three. He has a small frame despite his listed height of
6-foot-2.?However, he is extremely quick and able to blow by people with
his first step.

Team Loaded 16U Frank Mason (5-foot-10) - Mason
combines confidence
with great body control to break down defenders for baskets inside the
paint.?He seems to average 10+ free throw attempts per game. Mason likes to
go behind his back and use a spin move to slither?thru traffic.?He took on
the role as the primary point producer for the 16-under team so I would be
interested to see how he would do playing for the 17-Under Team Loaded.

Boo Williams Simuel Frazier (6-foot-2) -
BWSL survived their first round game of the Hoop Group Southern invitational
against Xpress Elite (Md) by the skin of their teeth. Maury guard Sim Frazier
threw up an off-balance shot at the buzzer to give BWSL a 51-48 win. Frazier is
a steady point guard who can attack the basket and get his teammates involved.
While not flashy, Frazier can contribute in all facets of the game from shooting
to playing defense. He will probably end up with Mid to low D1
offers.

East Coast Fusion Jerome Hairston (6-foot-2) - athletic point with a good
mid-range game and one-on-one
skills. Hairston is able to get his shots off He is a?good
but not great outside shooter preferring to take it to the hole. Hairston still
needs to add polish to his game as it seems he is playing on natural
ability but he has the talent to be a D1 prospect if he puts in the work and gets
the proper coaching.

Boo Williams 15U Anthony Barber (6-foot-2) - arguably the top freshman in the state, this super
talented?2013 prospect?gets to the lane with ease and has a knack for
making unorthodox shots from close range. He easily breaks down his defender and
will usually force backside help to slow him down.?Barber is
sometimes?reckless when driving to the paint but more often then not, he
finishes or?initiates contact which puts him at the free throw line for two
shots.?His offensive skills?are exceptional and he has 3-point range.
Barber will likely play for the BWSL Elite team as a sophomore next
year.

Wave Basketball Jeremy Canty (6-foot-2) - Wave
basketball?defeated Virginia Assault behind a buzzer beating three from Norcom guard
Jay Canty who finished with 19 points. Canty also led the way
against the BWSL 17 Elite team scoring 14 points and grabbing seven rebounds.
there's a lot to like about canty's game. he can
score, play defense, rebound, and shoot the three. he is an average
ball handler but he has no problems getting to the rim. Canty had
commited to Liberty but is once again a free agent.

Others - Devante Payne (6-foot-1) from
Richmond Metro made the Southern Jam Fest ?list of best shooters from down
town. Joining Payne on the best shooters list is Wave Basketball guard
Dontrell Silver (5-foot-11) who was almost automatic from
15-feet. It was a mistake to leave?Team Loaded 16-Under guards 6-foot-1
Willie Magnum (John Marshall) and 5-foot-10 Micah
Thomas

(Hermitage) alone from the outside unless
you wanted to conceed the three.
