Does Coach Dylan DeHart have something up his sleeve to give West Point the same ending?

KING WILLIAM (3-5) AT WEST POINT (7-1)
King William is in a must win situation versus their rival West Point in what should be a tougher task than what they just recently faced with the Chargers. On the line is a district streak dating back since 2008. Sophomore Marc Gresham is the dynamic threat for the Cavaliers who has rushed for 954 yards and 13 touchdowns going into the contest. Lance Alfonso of the same classification has thrown for 1,009 yards and 12 touchdowns. The future looks bright for Dylan DeHart.

For West Point the future is now. After going 4-6 last season, the Pointers have a new attitude. Coach LC Briggs has his young men playing at a much higher level now than in quite a while. Friday night would be huge for the Pointers in securing a home playoff berth. Jared Lawson will need to be solid on both sides of the ball to help the Pointers to counter the Cavs. Expect the offensive line to be the key for West Point being able to control this one and securing the first victory over King William many can remember.

PREDICTION: King William 22 West Point 20

Clyde Edmond and the Tiger offense will need to execute versus the Eagles 7-man front.

GREENSVILLE COUNTY (6-2) AT SUSSEX CENTRAL (7-1)
Greensville County has a solid team once again and will try to accomplish what Southampton did about a month ago and that was beat the Tigers in over 30 years. That lost though may have been the best thing to happen to Sussex Central who was being led exclusively by their defense. Now the offense is clicking with the duo of Trevon Hatch and Amari Hill giving defenses a tougher than imagine match up. Quarterback Clyde Edmonds is becoming a big threat on offense as he is a linebacker. The victory would be crucial in them regaining the top seed in the Region A playoff race.

The Eagles have the most speed the have had in the backfield since former San Francisco 49er Maurice Hicks suited up for them. DeAndre Anderson is a highly talented athlete that can do it all. Isaiah Seaborn is the quarterback with the strong arm who has a quick trigger and is a wizard in the jet option game which will try to slow the Tigers defensive attack. A win could jump the Eagles over Amelia for the 3rd seed.

PREDICTION: Sussex Central 36 Greensville County 12

Essex1-14.jpg

Expect Essex to match the emotional high Washington & Lee will be on when the come in.

WASHINGTON & LEE (7-1) AT ESSEX (7-1)
Washington & Lee has always been able to turn up everything and become the best version of themselves whenever they face Essex. Friday night will be no different. The Eagles have had trouble on the defensive side of the ball but their offense has carried them to a 7-1 record and now they have a chance to shake up the Region A seedings. Carson Bell is the top all around dual threat quarterback in the region. Bell will along running back James Kelly will try to find holes in an aggressive Trojan defense that creates havoc all the time.

Essex has plenty of ways to answer anything the Eagles have planned. The powerful running of KJ Dameron and the speedster Tim Johnson create a perfect balance of stress on the opposition. Ashton Ashlock has the poise and the arm to strike from anywhere at anytime. Terrell Hundley will be a match up nightmare for the Eagle's secondary if their defensive front can't generate pressure on the quarterback.

PREDICTION: Essex 44 Washington & Lee 24
